More than 1 in 4 school aged children in Bangladesh do not attend school. At each grade level, a smaller percentage of student enroll for the next year. The highest dropout rate happens before enrolling in 5th grade, due to students feeling unprepared, and parents unable to support them. These children often end up working in the child labor industry doing jobs from welding, garments manufacturing, housekeeping, to other dangerous jobs including prostitution.
